Requirements for harnessing ecological rivers
Firstly, from the point of view of suitable biological habitat, ecological river regulation considers comprehensively the effects of Engineering on hydrology, water depth, flow rate, sediment, River morphology, cross-section form and material, and establishes suitable habitat conditions for biological habitat and reproduction.
Second, ecological river regulation should try to retain the natural shape and cross-section of the river, control the cut-off and straight, and avoid homogenization and simplification of the width and form of the cross-section.
3. The revetment of ecological rivers should be rigid and flexible according to the functional requirements of rivers. When the revetment materials meet the strength requirements, the revetment materials with good permeability, favorable for water exchange and good ecological compatibility for the growth of animals and plants should be selected, and the local natural materials should be given priority.
4. On the premise of meeting the requirements of ecological function of river course, ecological greening of river course should retain and utilize the existing vegetation on both sides of river course as far as possible, allocate the plants with different habits reasonably, and create plant zones with diverse plant community structure and ecological landscape; and indigenous species should be selected for plants.
5. Ecological river regulation needs to be followed up and evaluated, and suggestions and measures for improvement are put forward.
